As of May 2020, I'm registered "no party affiliation," following 45 years voting straight blue. Covidmania revealed the extent of fear-mongering, authoritarianism that has consumed my former party, and which I can see, now that I've stepped away from it, has been growing and growing for many years. Coronavirus hysteria, climate hysteria, "systemic racism," wokism, etc., etc., all have taken over the Democratic party and its followers, of which I was one not so long ago.

You are exactly right, they've overplayed their hand. But I'm glad in a way, because some of us might not have opened our eyes otherwise. And yes, I am really angry—for the children, especially, who are suffering abuses and being deprived of some parts of their humanity, not to mention placing them at unnecessary risk of bodily harm.

Excellent article! I would only make one comment. Biden didn't get 80 million votes.

i was registered democrat. no longer!

i am on their e-mail lists. most are divisive, lately they have been pounding any organization including local police and fire that are not 100% pro- vaxx. that is dangerous and they show a tendency to dictatorship!

worse, i follow climate religion which is a democrat faith. it is as non science as the covid religion and your deep dive on their models is spot on.

now biden and his energy sec have cut usa oil production solely for their phony green agenda with no concern for the rise in energy prices! the gasoline increases are granholm/biden features pushing costs up to impose the climate religion. none of it science!

worse, granholm and the cardinals of climate are into huge batteries to back up unreliable solar/wind input to the electric grid. a half megawatt battery, what could go wrong with all that heavy metal!!!

last and largest nails in the democrat coffin is that their moral codes are obscene: they condone ruinous riots and intimidation as "mostly peaceful". they condone views of sexuality that are unnatural, and they push abortion which has claimed 60 million lives since 1973....

never vote democrat at any level!

You nailed it. Except, I have been following politics for a long time so none of what you wrote surprised me at all. I’m glad that a lot of people are awake now, but I am fearful that we have lost our country forever. There are 30 democrats who just sent a letter to Biden saying our dictator should mandate a vax or negative covid test to travel via airplane. Since when is that allowed in a constitutional republic? Since Covid 19……I’m losing hope that we will ever get our rights back.

A good summary Gummi, I'm left on social issues and right of center on economics and can read basic statistics - I originally posted about the threat of covid as early as April - May 2020 with the Princess Cruise test tube example. As you can imagine, that went over really well lol. In the current climate that means I'm racist and irredeemable (but I didn't vote Republican). Mmmm...

The progressive agenda is not neo-Marxist. You could argue for neo-communist or more likely, neo-fascist. You have to remember that the thing that communism morphed into was nothing like the communism he wrote about in Das Kapital. His vision was a stateless, collectivist society. The communists just ended up doing what everyone in power does - consolidate power. They used Marx's ideas to enrich themselves and crush any opposition. I'm not a Marxist. I think his ideas were utopian and naive and will not work in any modern technological society. The progressive agenda exists to sow division. It exists to help destroy western society. Progressive or conservative, it's all bullshit at the end of the day. They are two paths with the same destination because the driver is deciding where we go. And that driver is locked in a bullet-proof, tungsten-carbide cabin with walls 2 feet thick and we can't get to him. Hell, we don't even know who he is. But of us passengers have noticed some of the signposts. We know where we're headed and I can't f**king get off because the doors are locked.
