The LGBTQ Pandemic and Mental Health Race
An article by my 13-year-old daughter
Below is another article by my 13-year-old daughter about living in a universe with so many crazy external pressures being generated through social media, the internet, and the current state of the culture
I know these things because we communicate well and I try to take an interest in what she’s thinking
I know that many parents avoid this by limiting access to social media, but I chose the opposite path → I can’t protect her forever so I’d rather explain things to her as she explores the digital world
She previously shared her thoughts on wanting to get vaccinated in “Why I wish I could get vaccinated”
The LGBTQ Pandemic and Mental Health Race
If we were in the 90’s, we’d probably be worrying about “stranger danger”, “satanic rituals on preschoolers” and “free drugs behind the school bleachers”. Now, parents have to worry about a completely different thing.
The LGBTQIA+ and Mental Health “awareness” movements have become increasingly more popular over the years.
Here’s my thoughts on it.
Why the LGBTQIA+ SJW’s are detrimental to both queer and regular folks.
First, let’s start with a definition of the LGBTQ+ community.
LGBTQIA+, for those of you who don’t know, is a community of people who identify outside of the categories of heterosexual and cisgender (gender assigned at birth). It stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer (Questioning), Intersex (I’m not too sure of this myself) and Asexual (People who identify as feeling no sexual attraction).
The reason why I’m defining this is simple: this is what the definition is, in its simplest form.
But the LGBTQIA+ has expanded. Now there’s more to keep track of than just these few.
The part that is most concerning is that, TEHNICALLY, anybody can create a new sexuality and claim it to be part of the LGBTQ+.
For example, I’m a huge fan of murder mystery visual novels. Would that mean I’m now murdermysterysexual? No, of course not! But if I wanted to I could invent a whole new sexuality and call people bigots for not understanding it.
When you put it like that, it shows how hard it is to define LGBTQ+.
There’s also the big gender debate. Personally, I don’t know where to stand on this and I don’t judge any opinions, but you can’t shame people for not understanding what being “outside the binary” means.
And these are the big problems with the LGBTQ+. You can’t call any queer person out for fear of being called a bigot, you can’t ask questions or be wary of the detriments caused by creating new, dog crap sexualities without having essays written about how you hate the LGBTQ+.
And I think it’s sad. So many toxic SJW’s are digging a hole for the LGBTQ+ and pulling them down into this endless hole of darkness.
I also hate how, in recent times, whenever something is LGBTQ+, it has to be so obviously sugarcoated and painted in the perfect light. If there’s a gay character on tv, they’re always perfect and have a whole backstory on how they were bullied into 17 psych ward visits.
And all of this accumulates to my next point.
LGBTQIA+ Children Online; how to go about your child coming out, how to keep them safe from potential dangers.
So let’s start with, in my opinion, a list of the most toxic apps for your children to be on. I’m also a child myself and I’m wary of the top few sites, having been on them myself and having had some pretty icky experiences (unrelated to LGBTQIA+, still weird stuff though.)
Discord. Discord is dangerous for a variety of reasons. Pedophiles, predators, constant talk of subjects such as suicide and mental health, pressure on friends of people who are “venting”, (which means ranting their anger into a chat), to help the one venting. There’s also the LGBTQIA+ stuff.
Facebook. Facebook is mostly here because it’s notorious for also being dangerous. Predators, hackers, you know the drill. Facebook also has messenger which makes it hard to check.
Twitter. You either risk dying of SJW’s or risk dying of the radical righties pushing QAnon😂 (this is a joke!! No hate to any of the SJW’s and radical righties). It’s such a dumb environment.
TikTok. TikTok started this whole trend, and sadly, TikTok is the one to start all dangerous trends. So many TikTok trends have caused hospitalization, paralysis, life endangerment, and death (Benadryl Challenge, TidePod Challenge). It’s an addictive Chinese-owned social media app that targets children. I’m not sure this is a good idea
Instagram. Causes mental health problems for girls. Body image stuff but so does the whole modeling industry. Not really related to the LGBTQ+.
YouTube. It’s not dangerous, you only get stuff recommended off of what you like, and usually, YouTube gives you actually fun stuff. There is harmful content everywhere on the internet, but YouTube does a good job of not exposing kids to that stuff. I think they try to be family-friendly.
Fanfiction websites. These are not dangerous if you’re careful with what you read. If you just want a romance story of your favorite characters, by all means, go for it.
Parents. Please listen to me when I say. Keep your children AWAY from Discord. It’s a dangerous app. I used to be on Discord, and had been on it for more than a year. In that time, I found out that a moderator turned out to be a predator. No major harm was done to anyone, but he tried to groom a 16-year-old girl before he was outed. This app is actually so dangerous for so many reasons. Please, please keep your kids away from it, and if they have it monitor it carefully.
The biggest turning point for me was my cousin. I saw that, on her TikTok page, she had stated the following:
Vore Kink (I don’t wanna explain it….)
Shes 10. Let that sink in.
My in real life friend identifies as a lesbian. She’s 12. I don’t mind that, but she certainly acts weird about it. She makes a lot of passes towards people I know. It’s icky.
And overall, it’s stupid that we’re trying to use LGBTQ+ to be cool. If you’re gay or straight I honestly don’t care. Just be an interesting person for me to talk to. If your child is doing this because they feel they need validation, make sure to spend time with them and let them know you care about them.
The Mental Health Race and why it should stop.
The Mental Health Race, which I will refer to as MHR to save time, is a concept with the premise that mental health is a spectrum that varies from healthy to completely deranged. People love to place themselves further on the spectrum than they actually are, and this isn’t true only in Gen Z. I’ve heard so many millennials and Gen X say “I think I have this disease because I show one symptom!”. It might be hypochondria for some, but others love to share how traumatic their life is as if it’s a race to the top. It’s like, what the hell is this? Mental Health Marathon? Grand Prize of “Balls To The Wall Insane”?
The worst examples are on TikTok. TikTok on its own has enough mental illness to feed an entire continent.
I hate how everybody thinks mental health is cool. I honestly used to think I had so many weird conditions because I would see a tiktok like “if you do this thing you actually have a condition that makes you act crazy!” and I just so happened to do that one, very generic, thing, and I’d freak out, search up the symptoms and go “nevermind”.
The worst portrayals are the disorders seen as cute, such as anxiety, depression, and any psychotic/borderline disorder.
Overall, I hate how this whole situation is treated. I wish mental health would stop being glorified and romanticized.
The Biggest, Most Awful, Most Tragic Conclusion In Human History.
The conclusion is… people wanna be the victim… and I can’t be mad at that.
Being a victim is associated with attention. Attention is absolutely lovely, I don’t believe any person who claims they hate attention. They’re just lying.
Attention, in small portions, is great. Introverts will claim they hate attention. I think that’s called being socially anxious, mate, I know lots of introverts (myself included!) who LOVE attention.
Attention-seeking is a part of human nature. At the end of the day, parents just need to have regular talks with their kids without judgment. They need to be wary of what they talk about without infringing privacy.
So, at the end of the day, I think all of this can be avoided by communication. Also by burning all the stinky cisgender heterosexuals!! 👿 😡!!! (I’m joking I promise)
And with that, I finish another literary masterpiece. now I shall take off and fly to the dark side, my physics filled notebook on my desk. Adios folks!!
